Independence
Editorial decisions are made without reference to commercial relationships. No advertiser, affiliate partner or brand has any input into what is covered, how it is ranked, or what an article concludes. Only our Amazon links earn commission today; that doesn’t change which product types we recommend.
Sourcing
Articles are researched from manufacturer specifications, manuals and warranty terms; published standards such as UL, ASTM, ANSI and FMVSS; regulator data and recall notices from bodies including the CPSC, NHTSA, FDA, EPA and FTC; and published studies. Each article links its sources in a Sources list. What counts as a source, and what the “How this article was researched” box at the top of each article means, is set out in our evidence standards.
We do not use manufacturer marketing copy as a source for anything except the manufacturer’s own claims.
Accuracy and corrections
Errors are corrected in place, promptly. When a correction changes what an article says, we add a dated note under the byline describing what changed. We don’t add a note unless a real revision happened — a byline that says “Updated” means the article actually was.
If you find an error, report it. You don’t need to be polite about it.
Products and samples
Where a product is supplied by a brand, that is disclosed in the article. Supplied products are never accepted on terms that include editorial approval, embargo conditions beyond a publication date, or a requirement to return a favorable verdict. Receiving a product doesn’t count as testing it, and we say so.
AI use
We use AI writing tools to produce a first draft of most articles, from the sources linked in that article. Every article is edited and fact-checked before publication. We do not use AI to invent test results, ownership experience, quotes, or facts we haven’t verified.
Articles are published under the byline of Luka, the editor, who checks each draft against its sources, edits it and approves it for publication. The byline means that person reviewed the article and answers for it. It does not mean anyone tested the products in it; nobody here does. Until September 14, 2026 articles carried the collective byline “The Analysis Desk”.
Reader contributions
Comments describing first-hand ownership experience are the most valuable material on this site and are moderated lightly. Comments that are promotional, abusive, or present a commercial interest as a personal experience are removed.
