Laundry and Cleaning

Cleaning equipment has an ironic failure mode: it gets dirty. A front-load washer grows mold in its door seal, a dryer vent fills with lint, a carpet cleaner leaves soap in the fibers that attracts dirt faster than before.

Most of that is not a defect. It is dosing and maintenance the manual mentions once, in small print. These analyses put it at the front: how much detergent a high-efficiency machine actually needs, which parts need cleaning and how often, and where a shortcut becomes a fire or a damaged floor.

Safety guidance from fire and consumer safety agencies is cited where it applies, because in this category some of the maintenance is not optional.
